FOtF Game 84: Sox Trounce the Yankees and Retake the AL East

06/30/2018

Holy shit. As hard as Friday's game was to watch, Saturday's game was the exact opposite. What a fucking showing all around the board. The best part is that the loss on Friday is that it was no where near as embarrassing as the humiliating showing by the Yankees last night. That was the best all around game of baseball I've seen the Red Sox play in a while. I would analyze the deep-dicking put on by the Red Sox, but I've got interesting statistics to share. In true Coors Cold Hard Facts fashion, here are some random numbers.

11: Runs scored by the Red Sox last night. Sonny Gray is laugh out loud bad and only lasted 1.2 innings. The Red Sox wracked up SEVENTEEN HITS, and put on a hitting clinic. They have now outscored the Yankees 52-38 this season.

5: Hits by Rafi Devers last night. A career high. His biggest hit? Without a doubt the oppo liner of a grand slam in the first inning. My favorite part of Devers hitting a HR is his cute pimp job. He hits the ball, watches it -wide eyed- as it flies in his weird open stance, realizes he needs to run, flips the bat and chugs around the bases. This kid is the Yankee killer and I can't get enough of it.

2: Total hits by the Yankees last night. Their offense stalled against an electric Chris Sale, who sat 11 guys on their asses. Chris Sale was dealing last night, and his 7 innings of one hit ball lowered his ERA to an unreal 2.41. His June ERA finishes at 1.76, and he is fucking rolling.

4.08: No this is not a GPA, this is Severino's ERA against the Red Sox since the start of 2017. And that is BAD. Given, his 1.60 ERA in the month of June was nuts, and he is throwing piss. His slider is GROSS, and his changeup is straight from the fountain of the gods thanks to Pedro. But, if the Red Sox can follow suit and get to Sevy early, they've got a good chance behind Price, and his 2.90 June ERA.

This game is going to be electric. I anticipate a close one after two blowouts in two nights. Let's hope that the Red Sox build their lead to 2 games, and show the Yankees that the AL East is our division this year.
