FOtF Game 91: The Site is Back and the Red Sox are the Best Team in Baseball

07/10/2018

I'm just going to go out and say it. F**K Webnode. They shut down my blog tonight, and I'm not sure why. Maybe they hate hot takes or really good baseball teams, and I certainly take issue to that. I take my pictures from google, and I'm pretty sure there's a "rights reserved" phrase at the bottom of the page. I don't know how or why they take issue to my blog. This has the perceived audience of an elementary school art project. At least send me a fucking warning before you go full 5-0 at shit my whole operation down. Doesn't matter. This blog is for the people and I'm still thinking of a way to upload it. UPDATE: site is back, let's ride.

As for the Red Sox, they are the best team in baseball. Eddy Rodriguez looked like a stud today again. He only lasted 4 2/3, but his stuff was lights out. His control, on the other had, was what we've seen for him in the past. Tonight was the classic E-Rod outing. His stuff looked out of this world nasty, but he walked like 12 guys and threw a million pitches in the first three innings. That's a maturity thing, I believe. He's shown flashes of incredible control this year, and all those games have resulted in certain victories. Regardless, he still threw a scoreless game, and it landed him his 11th victory of the year. E-Rod is a gem and will be an integral part of the rotation for a while.

The offense keeps doing what they do best, and that is putting this team in a position to win games. Steve Pearce drilled a HR into the Monster Seats in the first inning tonight, and he is off to the hottest of starts for the Red Sox. What a fucking trade from DD, who is going full Cashman and nailing down the team's needs. JD keeps doing his part, and he knocked in 3 with a home run in the 8th inning, adding some insurance for what has been a lights out bullpen. The top of the order had 8 of the 9 hits. Two for each of the first four and Sandy added the ninth. Not the most prolific night offensively, but more than enough to grant the Red Sox their seventh straight.

What really made my day was the Yankees splitting their doubleheader against the Orioles. They Yankees have been mediocre at best against terrible teams, and that's why they aren't winning as many games as the Sox. They now trail Boston by 2.5 games, and the Red Sox climb to a mind-boggling 34 games over .500. Please win the rest of the games and finish at 69 wins before the ASG, boys.
